The Arts In Pembrokeshire

Pembrokeshire County Council seeks to aid the development of a relevant and meaningful experience of culture, arts and crafts, for the people of Pembrokeshire (practitioners, participants and the public), including all those who live, work, study in, and visit the county, providing a bi-lingual service which aims for excellence and equality in practice, product and service delivery.

The Arts team comprises of :

The team:
Provides information and advice to artists, organisations, groups and individuals, information about opportunities, projects, external grants etc;
Hosts and attends arts-related meetings, events and projects throughout the county;
Ensures an arts agenda, where relevant, within other portfolios, projects and departments of the local authority, delivered with expertise professionalism and experience;
Manages the three library galleries in Pembrokeshire.

Theatr Gwaun, Fishguard is owned managed and staffed by Pembrokeshire County Council.

Pembrokeshire Arts Focus is an e newsletter, edited by the Arts Officer and sent to people on the arts mailing list. It provides information on arts opportunities, funding, commissions, jobs etc.
Support of the Arts is Pembrokeshire County Council’s Art Grant scheme. Application forms are sent and received by mail and email. The County Arts Officer makes the initial assessment and report to the Council’s management group. Deadlines are in February May August and November each year.

Audiences Wales continues to support the arts and cultural sectors in Wales with a range of services and support. Audiences Wales is the audience development agency for Wales and aims to enable arts organisations to understand their audiences, increase their impact, and reach new visitors.

Audiences Wales has published a Wales-wide Benchmark Report of visitors to galleries in Wales during 2012.

The Knowledge Guide

The Knowledge is Audiences Wales’ Box Office analysis programme for theatres, arts centres and touring companies. With 38 theatres currently subscribing to the programme, The Knowledge is the most significant analysis of actual theatre attendance in Wales.
