Volunteers

Brecon play’s host to one of Oxjam’s flagship ‘Takeover’ festivals. In 2009 Oxjam Brecon ran for 12 hours in 6 venues. The festival hosted over 40 bands, 6 DJ’s & 9 comedians and raised over £5000 for Oxfam. This was the highest regional total in the UK.

All money raised through Oxjam events goes towards Oxfam’s Climate Change Campaign helping those in poor countries most affected by the effects of climate change through food shortages, loss of livelihood, flooding, drought and natural disasters.

This year’s event in Brecon will take place on 16th October. Oxjam is looking for volunteer:

• Venue managers
• Sound Engineers / Technicians
• Artist Liason
• Box Office staff
• Stewards
• Fundraisers

Audiences Marketing Manager

Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama is seeking an experienced and dedicated arts marketing professional. In spring 2011 RWCMD will open its new venues comprising a magnificent 450-seat Concert Hall, the 160-seat ’Richard Burton’ Theatre, a contemporary exhibition gallery and a stunning glass-sided café, bar and front-of-house foyer.

The successful candidate will help RWCMD create its opening campaign as well as develop, manage and implement an audience marketing strategy for RWCMD’s busy programme of concerts, musicals, plays, recitals, functions and events and in doing so achieve annual audience targets across a wide audience base.

Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama is looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to lead the curation, planning and co-ordination of a diverse public performance and exhibition programme across the College’s venues. These include the new state-of-the art Recital Hall and Courtyard Theatre opening in April 2011.

Span Arts is a vibrant, busy community arts charity based in Narberth, Pembrokeshire. Span Arts run around 45 performing arts events a year including music, drama, comedy and more, as well as a variety of workshops and projects.

The successful candidate provide leadership and management for the day to day running of Span Arts and to generate funds to ensure the organisation’s sustainability.

The successful candidate will also be efficient and versatile with strong financial and planning skills, demonstrate a commitment to and interest in community arts and possess a proven knowledge and understanding of the efficacy of marketing tools and techniques.
